Dietitian

An Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) is approved and recognized by the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA) to practice as a dietitian and be recognized by Medicare and Health Insurance agencies in Australia. APD’s have achieved the necessary university-based education in addition to undertaking regular ongoing training to ensure the most up to date and reliable nutrition information is used when assessing and advising individuals in dietary prescription.

APDs are used to assess, aid and guide the dietary treatment a wide range of conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal disorders, weight management, food allergies and intolerances, mental health and eating disorders, where there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Services include:

  • Assessment of nutritional needs with regard to medical condition and personal circumstances
  • Develop personalised eating plans
  • Nutrition counselling and support to individuals
  • Provide guidance on shopping for food, eating out and preparing food at home
